The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted snowfall and rain in the upper parts of the country starting November 4. The new weather system, entering Pakistan from Sunday night, is expected to bring gusty winds, widespread rainfall, and snowfall in several northern regions.
According to the PMD, this fresh spell of snowfall and rain will continue between November 4 and 5. It will cause a sharp drop in temperatures and may temporarily disrupt daily life in some areas. The department advised citizens to stay updated on weather alerts and plan their travel accordingly.
Areas Likely to Experience Snowfall and Rain
The Meteorological Department stated that rainfall is expected in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Abbottabad, and Haripur. Northern regions, including Swabi, Peshawar, Mardan, Kohat, Kashmir, and Muzaffarabad, may also experience snowfall and rain during the two-day period.
Meanwhile, cloudy weather is forecast for Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Murree, Attock, Chakwal, Talagang, Jhelum, and Sargodha. Thunderstorms are likely in Khushab, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Narowal, and Lahore.
The PMD further warned that moderate to heavy rainfall in some regions could lead to localized flooding and road closures. Commuters are advised to take precautions, particularly in hilly areas prone to landslides.
Temperature Drop and Air Quality Improvement
A significant decline in temperature is expected as the weather system progresses. The PMD said that the spell of snowfall and rain will help improve air quality in Punjab and upper Sindh by reducing smog and fog.

The department urged residents to prepare for colder conditions and ensure safety during travel, especially in areas with heavy snowfall. Overall, this weather change marks the early arrival of winter across northern Pakistan.
