Pakistani cricketer Sohaib Maqsood has successfully recovered his luxury car worth Rs1.4 crore after being the victim of a major fraud in Multan. The vehicle had been missing for nearly nine months, and the news of the Sohaib Maqsood car recovery has brought relief to the cricketer and his supporters.
Maqsood shared the good news on social media, expressing gratitude to Punjab authorities for their help in retrieving his car. He thanked Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, and senior police officers for their timely action.
βTruth always wins,β Maqsood wrote on X (formerly Twitter). βHuge thanks to RPO Multan and CPO Multan for personally looking into the matter and ensuring quick action. The Punjab government and Punjab Police stayed in touch with me throughout this process.β
Earlier, the cricketer had accused a car showroom owner in Multan of committing large-scale fraud. According to his statement, the dealer sold his car without original documents, which Maqsood still had, and handed him another vehicle with fake papers. The fraudster also demanded an extra Rs7 million from him.
In a social media post, the cricketer appealed to Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and Punjab Police for justice. βIf being a national cricketer, Iβm helpless, I can only imagine what ordinary citizens face,β he wrote. βWe must protect peopleβs hard-earned money from such fraudsters.β
After continuous efforts and police involvement, the Sohaib Maqsood car recovery was finally made possible. The cricketer revealed that his vehicle was found parked at a private residence in Lahore. When he confronted the man in possession, the person initially refused to return it, claiming to have purchased it legally.
Authorities intervened swiftly, confirming Maqsoodβs ownership and handing the car back to him. The Sohaib Maqsood car recovery highlights the importance of timely action against fraudulent dealers and has been widely praised online.
