The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a significant weather alert for several parts of the country. According to the department, northern regions, including Upper Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan, are expected to experience thunderstorms, rainfall, and snowfall in the coming days.
The forecast predicts that areas such as Islamabad, Murree, and Galyat will witness intermittent rain, heavy downpours, and snowfall at mountain peaks. Strong winds and thunderstorms are also likely, with potential disruptions to daily life in some regions. Southern Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and parts of northeastern Balochistan could face thunderstorms with hailstorms in isolated areas.

In Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, districts including Swat, Chitral, Mansehra, and Peshawar are preparing for a mix of rain and heavy snowfall, especially in the mountainous zones. Additionally, strong winds are anticipated in areas like Kohat, Bannu, and Dera Ismail Khan, possibly bringing hail and severe thunderstorms.
The federal capital, Islamabad, and surrounding districts such as Rawalpindi and Lahore are bracing for heavy rains and hailstorms. Murree and Galyat, popular hill stations, are particularly vulnerable to intense snowfall and hazardous driving conditions.
While Sindh and the southern parts of the country will mostly experience dry, partly cloudy weather, isolated rains are expected in upper districts. Balochistan is forecasted to remain cold, with snowfall likely in high-altitude areas such as Quetta and Zhob.
