Strategic Projects to Get Fiscal Space in Next PSDP: Ahsan Iqbal

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal has announced that key strategic projects under the “Uraan Pakistan” initiative will be given fiscal space in the upcoming Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP).

While presenting the blueprint of the next fiscal year’s PSDP during the Annual Plan Coordination Committee meeting, he stated that priority projects include the Diamer Bhasha Dam, Sukkur-Hyderabad Motorway, N-25 Highway in Balochistan, and Phase-II of the Karakoram Highway.

Ahsan Iqbal stressed the importance of synergy between federal and provincial development initiatives to ensure timely completion of nationally significant projects.

He further said that projects involving foreign funding and those close to completion are also being prioritized. In addition, special attention is being given to regions like Azad Jammu & Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan, and the tribal districts.

The minister emphasized that efforts have been made to align the development budget with national priorities despite financial constraints.
