The Supreme Court has denied an urgent request from Bahria Town to stop the auction of its properties.
A three-member bench, led by Justice Aminuddin Khan, heard the plea on Thursday. The court ordered the submission of all references filed against Malik Riaz and Bahria Town.
Justice Aminuddin remarked that the court cannot grant a one-sided stay order. He said a decision will be made only after hearing arguments from both sides.
The court scheduled the next hearing for August 13. All main and miscellaneous petitions related to the matter will be addressed on that date.
Earlier, the Islamabad High Court allowed the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to proceed with the auction of Bahria Town properties. The decision adds to the mounting legal challenges faced by the real estate giant.
The case has drawn significant public attention due to the scale of Bahria Town’s property holdings and its role in Pakistan’s real estate sector. Malik Riaz, the founder, has been at the center of multiple legal disputes over land and financial dealings.
Legal experts note that the court’s refusal to halt the auction could have major implications for the company’s operations. The upcoming hearing is expected to be a key moment in determining the future of its disputed properties.
The situation remains tense as both sides prepare for the next round of legal arguments. The outcome could shape the fate of one of Pakistan’s most high-profile real estate developments.
