Islamabad police have arrested a tailor in connection with the recent suicide blast case, accusing him of storing a suicide jacket linked to the attack. According to officials, the arrest was made during an intelligence-led operation following the identification of several suspects involved in the planning and facilitation network.
Police said the tailor had allegedly kept the suicide jacket at his shop and was aware of its purpose. Investigators believe he played a supporting role in the wider network responsible for the attack. The suspect was taken into custody after interrogation of previously arrested individuals pointed to his involvement.
Authorities stated that forensic and technical evidence is being collected to strengthen the case. They added that more arrests are expected as the investigation expands into different districts.
The Islamabad police reaffirmed their commitment to dismantling all terror facilitation networks operating in the region. They stressed that anyone providing support, shelter, or material assistance to terrorists will face strict legal action.
Security has been tightened across the capital, with additional checkpoints and increased monitoring of sensitive areas. The government has also directed law enforcement agencies to accelerate their operations against militant groups and their facilitators.
The investigation into the blast remains ongoing, with authorities confident that the full network behind the attack will be exposed soon.
