Strong earthquake tremors jolted Islamabad, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), and Gilgit-Baltistan on Saturday afternoon, causing widespread panic across the affected regions. Citizens rushed out of buildings, reciting prayers as the ground shook.
The National Seismological Center confirmed the quake measured 5.9 on the Richter scale, originating at a depth of 94 kilometers near the Afghanistan-Tajikistan border — a region known for frequent seismic activity impacting northern Pakistan.

Tremors were felt in cities like Islamabad and Lahore, as well as numerous districts in KP and Gilgit-Baltistan. Fortunately, there were no immediate reports of injuries or significant damage, though emergency services remain on alert.
