A tragic accident occurred near Keamari Gate No. 17, where a speeding truck crushes motorcycle carrying a family. Rescue officials confirmed the deaths of a husband, wife, and their two-year-old child.
Authorities said the 10-wheeler truck struck the motorcycle while moving at high speed. The driver fled the scene immediately after the crash. The police have launched a search to locate the absconding driver.
The victimsโ bodies were shifted to a hospital for legal formalities. Meanwhile, the damaged motorcycle was moved to a nearby police post for investigation. Traffic authorities are coordinating with local police to prevent further accidents in the area.
Eyewitnesses reported that the impact of the crash was severe, leaving the motorcycle completely destroyed. โThe truck crushes motorcycle so badly that there was no chance of survival for the family,โ one witness said.
This is not the first such tragic accident in the region. Earlier, on January 11, four people, including a groom, died in a head-on collision between a car and a truck in Jamrud town, Khyber District. Rescue officials reported that the groom was returning with friends after wedding preparations when the accident occurred.
In both incidents, families and communities were left in shock. Police and rescue teams emphasized the need for stricter traffic safety measures and better monitoring of heavy vehicles to prevent similar tragedies.
Authorities have urged witnesses to come forward with information about the truck driver who crushed the motorcycle near Keamari Gate. Investigation is ongoing to determine negligence or violations that led to this fatal accident.
