US President Trump has issued a stark warning to Iran’s security forces following recent military strikes. In a video address, he demanded that Iran’s forces surrender immediately or face severe consequences.
The announcement came after the killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, an event that shook the Middle East and affected global markets. Trump said the United States had destroyed the headquarters of Iran’s elite Revolutionary Guards. He warned, “Lay down your arms and receive full immunity, or face certain death. It won’t be pretty.”
Trump described the military operation as potentially lasting about a month. He stated that it could be “a four-week process, or less,” highlighting his confidence despite Iran’s large military capabilities.
According to Trump, 48 Iranian leaders have already been killed, and U.S. forces have begun dismantling Iran’s naval strength. Nine Iranian warships were reportedly sunk, with additional targets still under attack.
The Pentagon confirmed that American forces have struck more than 1,000 targets since the operation began. Among these attacks, B-2 stealth bombers targeted underground missile facilities with 2,000-pound bunker-buster bombs. Initially, the US reported no losses, but three American service members have since died, and five were seriously wounded. Other troops suffered minor injuries.
Trump cautioned that additional casualties are possible but stressed that the campaign aims to create long-term stability. “We expect casualties,” he said, while emphasizing the broader benefits for global security.
In Tehran, Iran responded with defiance. The country’s foreign minister stated that Tehran had studied U.S. military tactics in Afghanistan and Iraq and adjusted its defense strategy. “Bombings in our capital have no impact on our ability to conduct war,” he asserted.
Following Khamenei’s death, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian announced that a temporary leadership council will now oversee the role of supreme leader, ensuring continuity in Iran’s governance.
