Terrorist Attack on FC Fort in Hangu Leaves 2 Martyred, 17 Injuried

A deadly terrorist attack targeted a Frontier Constabulary (FC) fort in the Torawari area within the Doaba police station limits of Hangu. The assault left two FC personnel martyred and 17 others injured.

District Police Officer (DPO) Hangu, Khalid Khan, confirmed the incident and said that FC troops and police forces responded immediately. In the exchange of fire, five terrorists, including a local facilitator, were killed.

He added that the joint police and FC operation is still ongoing to clear the area and eliminate any remaining threats. The swift response by security forces helped prevent greater loss of life during the terrorist attack.

According to security officials, the entire area has been cordoned off to ensure safety. Rescue teams shifted the bodies of the martyred soldiers and the injured personnel to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The terrorist attack has once again raised concerns about militant activity in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Hangu, which has faced similar threats in the past, remains a sensitive district due to its proximity to tribal areas. Security forces continue to strengthen patrols and intelligence-sharing mechanisms to counter such incidents.

Officials stated that further investigations are underway to identify the networks behind the attack. Authorities have also vowed to track down any remaining facilitators and ensure strict measures to prevent future assaults.

The bravery of the martyred FC personnel has been widely acknowledged, with officials praising their sacrifice in defending the fort. Leaders have also expressed solidarity with the families of the victims and emphasized the governmentโ€™s resolve to combat terrorism.

The situation in Hangu remains tense but under control, with security agencies determined to restore peace and stability in the region.
