The University of Karachi (KU) has introduced a revised academic schedule under which in-person classes will be held twice a week starting Thursday, April 2, as part of updated academic arrangements.
According to an official notification issued by the university administration, physical classes will take place every Monday and Thursday. The decision aims to maintain academic continuity while balancing flexibility through a hybrid learning system.
Under the new timetable, morning classes will run from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., while evening programs will be conducted from 3:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on both designated on-campus days. University authorities have instructed all faculty and administrative staff to ensure attendance in line with the updated schedule.
Teaching activities will continue through online classes during the remaining three weekdays, allowing departments to complete coursework without requiring daily campus presence.
The notification also confirmed that transport services will be provided for students on both in-person class days to facilitate attendance and reduce commuting difficulties.
Additionally, academic departments have been given flexibility to arrange MPhil and PhD classes on weekends, depending on program requirements and research schedules.
The move follows broader higher-education policy adjustments encouraging universities across Pakistan to gradually resume physical learning while retaining elements of digital education introduced in recent years.
