Pakistani students seeking to study abroad have an excellent opportunity as the University of Tokyo has officially announced the opening of applications for the ADB-Japan Scholarship Program 2026.
This fully funded scholarship, supported by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), aims to empower talented students from ADB member countries, including Pakistan. It provides comprehensive financial coverage for masterβs degree students at the University of Tokyo, easing the financial challenges of studying overseas.
The scholarship includes full tuition fees, a monthly stipend, medical insurance, travel expenses, and additional research or thesis funding. It is specifically designed to support those pursuing postgraduate education in fields contributing to sustainable development.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must be citizens of an ADB borrowing member country such as Pakistan. They should hold a bachelorβs degree from a recognized institution and possess at least two years of full-time work experience in a related field.
Candidates must be under 35 years old at the time of application and must commit to returning to their home country after completing their studies to contribute to national development. Applicants with an existing masterβs degree are not eligible. Those wishing to pursue a PhD are advised to apply for the MEXT Scholarship instead.
Required Documents
Students must submit a completed application form, research and study plan, academic transcripts, and degree certificates. Two recommendation letters must be sent directly by referees to the University of Tokyo with the subject line βADB recommendation letter_Applicant Name.β All materials, except recommendation letters, should be uploaded via the official Google Form by December 10, 2025.
