US Flag at PTI Rally Fuels Verbal Clash Between Barrister Saif and Azma Bokhari

A verbal clash broke out between Barrister Saif, the Information Advisor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P), and Punjab Information Minister Azma Bokhari over the display of a US flag during a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) rally in Swabi.

Barrister Saif condemned the incident, blaming the “fake government” for orchestrating the display of the US flag, accusing it of being part of a conspiracy aimed at undermining PTI. He insisted that such actions would not tarnish Imran Khan’s popularity and confirmed that an investigation was underway. Saif further emphasized that the K-P government had condemned the incident and would take action against the individual responsible for raising the flag.

In response, Azma Bokhari criticized PTI, questioning how those who once opposed US influence were now aligning with it. She also highlighted the internal divisions within PTI, claiming that the party’s leadership was disarrayed and that internal power struggles were intensifying. She predicted PTI’s downfall, citing the absence of clear leadership, especially with Imran Khan’s ongoing legal challenges.

The controversy surrounding the US flag occurred after PTI supporters raised it at the rally, sparking a mix of reactions. While some attempted to forcibly lower the flag, others tried to remove it entirely. A video of the altercation went viral, fueling further debate.

Meanwhile, Zulfi Bukhari, a key PTI member, revealed plans to discuss Imran Khan’s legal troubles with US President-elect Donald Trump once he takes office. Bukhari, who is in regular contact with the Trump family, expressed his intention to raise issues of human rights and the rule of law in Pakistan, alongside Khan’s legal situation.

This incident and subsequent exchanges reflect the deepening political tensions surrounding PTI and its leadership.
