LAHORE โ A woman in the Shad Bagh area has filed a lawsuit against a beauty parlour, claiming that her hair colour was changed to black instead of the lighter brown shade she requested. The complaint was submitted to the Consumer Court, where she is seeking Rs100,000 in compensation for the alleged negligence.
According to the complaint, the woman visited the beauty parlour to correct her hair colour and specifically asked for a light brown shade. However, the salon staff reportedly applied a darker colour, leaving her dissatisfied with the result. She also stated that when she raised her concerns, the parlour failed to address the issue or offer a solution.
The Consumer Court has taken notice of the case and scheduled a hearing for December 1. The owner of the beauty parlour has been summoned to respond to the allegations and present their stance on the matter.
Consumer rights in Punjab are protected under several laws that ensure fair treatment in the marketplace. These laws give individuals the right to be informed, the right to choose freely, and the right to be heard if they face any issues with products or services.
The Punjab Consumer Protection Act provides a legal pathway for consumers to file complaints about unfair practices, defective products, or misleading advertisements. Under this act, individuals can approach the Punjab Consumer Protection Council or the Consumer Court to resolve disputes and seek compensation.
The case highlights the increasing awareness among customers about their rights and the growing trend of using legal channels to address service-related grievances. As consumer protection laws become stronger, more individuals are expected to report issues involving salons, shops, and service providers.

The upcoming hearing will determine whether the salon is responsible for the hair colour outcome and whether compensation will be granted to the complainant.
