Women and Children Among 24 Martyred, 46 Injured in Indian Strikes Across Pakistan

Director General ISPR, Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, confirmed in a press conference that 26 Pakistani civilians were martyred and 46 injured as a result of India’s unprovoked overnight attacks between May 6 and 7. The strikes occurred at six different locations, marking yet another instance of India’s recurring cowardly behavior under the cover of darkness.

He revealed that Masjid Bilal near Muzaffarabad was among the targets, where three innocent lives were lost. Another mosque in Muridke was hit, killing three men and injuring one. In Kotli, a 16-year-old girl and an 18-year-old boy also lost their lives. Fortunately, no casualties were reported from the Sialkot and Shakargarh sectors.

In a particularly devastating strike on Ahmedpur Sharqia, 13 civilians were martyred. The DG ISPR emphasized that the Pakistan Armed Forces swiftly retaliated and continue to respond effectively. He announced that five Indian aircraft and one drone had been shot down as part of Pakistan’s defensive action along the Line of Control (LoC), adding that all assets of the Pakistan Air Force remain secure.

Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif also revealed that India targeted the Neelum-Jhelum Hydropower Project, causing infrastructure damage. He stated that India has miscalculated the resolve of Pakistan’s brave nation, and this mistake will be corrected.

He firmly reiterated that the military is delivering a powerful and ongoing response to Indian aggression. Highlighting the commitment of the armed forces, he stated that embracing martyrdom in defense of the country’s sovereignty is both an honor and a duty. With full support from the nation, Pakistan’s military stands united against any threat to the country’s territorial integrity.
