President Asif Ali Zardari met with a delegation of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leaders and ticket holders from Attock, led by Punjab Governor Salim Haider, at the Governor House in Lahore. The gathering focused on the PPP’s enduring commitment to the country and its democratic values.
During the meeting, President Zardari emphasized that all political parties exist because Pakistan exists, and highlighted the sacrifices made by the PPP for both the nation and democracy. He recalled the party’s unity with the armed forces during periods of tension with India, which ultimately led to India’s retreat.

Zardari also reaffirmed that the PPP stands for laborers, working-class citizens, government employees, and the marginalized segments of society. He praised the party’s growing activity and energy in Punjab, signaling a stronger presence in the province.
Punjab Governor Salim Haider expressed confidence in PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto, calling him the people’s choice and a likely candidate for the next prime minister. The delegation concluded by inviting President Zardari to visit Attock in the near future.
