President Asif Ali Zardari, while hosting a dinner for the Pakistan and Bangladesh cricket teams, emphasized that sports can play a key role in rebuilding ties between the two nations.

Organized by Federal Minister Mohsin Naqvi, the event celebrated recent cricket engagements and promoted regional friendship. Zardari recalled the pain of separation but stressed moving forward:
“There is a need to bring both countries closer for the welfare of their people.”
Praising Bangladesh’s progress and rich heritage, he said both nations share immense potential and natural resources. He encouraged youth interaction through sports and cultural exchange as a way to strengthen relations.
