The Space & Upper Atmosphere Research Commission SUPARCO has issued its prediction regarding the sighting of the Zilqad 1447 Hijri moon in Pakistan.
According to SUPARCO, the new moon was born on April 17 at 4:52 PM Pakistan Standard Time, creating favorable conditions for visibility in the evening sky.
The agency stated that there is a strong likelihood of the Zilqad crescent being visible across the country on the evening of April 18, based on astronomical calculations.
By sunset on April 18, the moonโs age will exceed 26 hours, which significantly improves the chances of sighting in different regions.
In coastal areas of Sindh, the time gap between sunset and moonset is expected to be around 81 minutes, further supporting visibility conditions.
SUPARCO added that, if sighted, the first day of Zilqad 1447 Hijri is expected to fall on Sunday, April 19 in Pakistan.
However, the final announcement will be made by the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee after confirming verified moon sighting testimonies from different parts of the country.
