PCB Likely to Overhaul Selection Committee Post-T20 World Cup

After a disappointing performance in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is expected to revamp its selection committee. The national team’s early exit has led to widespread criticism and demands for major changes.

Reports suggest that changes in the PCB selection committee are imminent, with Wahab Riaz likely to step down from his role. However, no immediate decision is expected regarding Babar Azam’s captaincy.

With no white-ball matches scheduled for Pakistan until November, there is no rush to decide on the captaincy. Nonetheless, new players are expected to get opportunities in the upcoming home series against Bangladesh.

In March, PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi formed a new seven-member selection committee without a designated chairman. This committee included Mohammad Yousuf, Wahab Riaz, Abdul Razzaq, Asad Shafiq, the head coach, captain, and an analyst.

These potential changes indicate the PCB’s efforts to address the national team’s challenges and enhance future performances on the international stage. The cricketing community awaits official announcements.
