A subordinate court in Islamabad has issued an arrest warrant for former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister Ali Amin Gandapur in connection with a liquor and arms recovery case. The decision came on Wednesday after the court noted his continued absence from the legal proceedings.
According to court details, Judicial Magistrate Mubashir Hassan Chishti presided over the hearing. Neither Ali Amin Gandapur nor his lawyer, Zahoorul Hassan, appeared before the court. Due to their repeated non-appearances, the magistrate ordered the issuance of an arrest warrant and instructed police to arrest and present the suspect at the next hearing.
The case against Ali Amin Gandapur was registered at the Bhara Kahu Police Station in Islamabad. It involves allegations related to the recovery of liquor and illegal weapons. The court record shows that the former chief minister was granted several chances to appear, but he failed to comply each time.
As a result, the court decided to take coercive measures to ensure his attendance in future proceedings. The judicial magistrate emphasized the importance of compliance with court orders and maintaining the integrity of the judicial process.
Following the arrest warrant, the district and sessions court in Islamabad adjourned the case hearing until November 11. Authorities were also instructed to submit a compliance report regarding the suspectβs arrest and production in court on the next date.
