PESHAWAR – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has accused Aleema Khan, sister of PTI founder Imran Khan, of creating rifts within the party. He claimed that Aleema Khan was allegedly receiving support from Military Intelligence (MI) and certain establishment elements to advance her own interests.
In a recent video statement, Gandapur reaffirmed his loyalty to Imran Khan, stressing that he had always been truthful to his leader. He revealed that he personally informed the PTI founder about the ongoing situation during a meeting in Adiala Jail.
The chief minister explained that initially, communication with Imran Khan was difficult, and most updates were received through his sisters. According to Gandapur, this arrangement contributed to widening divisions inside the party.
Addressing criticism over the controversial KPK budget, Gandapur defended his government’s decision to present it. He clarified that the step was taken to prevent disqualification, adding that there were no instructions from Imran Khan to delay or stop the process. He condemned the smear campaigns labeling him and his team as “traitors,” calling such accusations unfair.
He further revealed that multiple attempts were made to clarify issues with Imran Khan’s sisters, but no responses were received. This, he said, left several members feeling sidelined and weakened the party’s unity.
Rejecting claims that he was part of any plan to undermine Imran Khan, Gandapur accused Aleema Khan of fueling internal divisions. He alleged that personal agendas were being prioritized over the collective struggle for the PTI founder’s release from jail.
The chief minister warned that the infighting within PTI, allegedly instigated by Aleema Khan, was damaging the party’s morale at a critical time. He stressed the need for unity, saying that internal rivalries could weaken their movement when focus should remain on political challenges ahead.
