Imran Khan Refuses to Disclose X Account Operator During FIA Inquiry at Adiala Jail

Imran Khan Refuses to Disclose X Account Operator During FIA Inquiry at Adiala Jail

RAWALPINDI – An FIA team visited Adiala Jail to investigate the operation of former Prime Minister and PTI founder Imran Khan’s X (Twitter) account.

The FIA Cyber Crimes Wing has launched a probe into alleged anti-state content being posted from Imran Khan’s account.

A three-member team, led by Ayaz Khan, questioned Imran Khan regarding the operation of his social media account. Officials reportedly asked who manages his X account, from where it is used, and whether he had given access to anyone else. They also questioned him about his awareness of posts deemed anti-state.

According to sources, Imran Khan refused to reveal who operates his X account. He reportedly requested a written questionnaire from the FIA team and insisted on responding only in the presence of his lawyers.

The Cyber Crimes team remained at Adiala Jail for over an hour while documenting the investigation and seeking clarifications from the PTI founder.

This development comes amid increasing scrutiny of social media content linked to political figures in Pakistan. Authorities are focusing on accountability and the dissemination of information that could be considered harmful to state institutions.

Imran Khan’s refusal to disclose details regarding his account adds complexity to the investigation. Legal experts say such cases often involve detailed examination of digital footprints and access records to verify claims.

The FIA Cyber Crimes Wing has emphasized that its investigation is ongoing, and further inquiries will continue in coordination with legal representatives of Imran Khan. No official statement has yet been released by the former Prime Minister’s office regarding the questioning.

The case highlights the growing attention on political leaders’ use of social media and the responsibilities associated with managing public accounts. Authorities are expected to follow up with additional procedures as part of the ongoing investigation.
