Sulaiman and Qasim, sons of former Prime Minister and PTI founder Imran Khan, are set to join the upcoming PTI protest movement. This was confirmed by Imran Khan’s sister Aleema Khan during a media talk outside Adiala Jail.
Speaking after visiting her jailed brother and former First Lady Bushra Bibi, Aleema revealed that Imran Khan plans to lead a full-scale PTI protest campaign starting August 5. This date marks two years since his imprisonment.
She said Imran Khan has sent a strong message to the nation. According to her, he asked supporters to be ready for a decisive movement. He also made it clear that those unable to handle the pressure of the struggle should step aside.
Aleema further disclosed that Khan’s sons, Sulaiman and Qasim, who currently live abroad, have informed their father that they will return to Pakistan next month. “They’re not asking for permission. They’re telling him they are ready to stand by his side,” she added. She said the family had earlier advised the brothers to stay out of politics, but they now feel it is time to be involved.
On the other hand, government officials have raised concerns. Rana Sanaullah, senior aide to the Prime Minister, warned against the involvement of Khan’s sons in the PTI protest. He pointed out that both are British citizens and lack familiarity with Pakistan’s political landscape. According to Sanaullah, their participation could lead to serious consequences.
He also criticized PTI’s protest history, claiming the party has previously incited unrest and targeted public institutions.
The announcement adds new energy to the upcoming PTI protest, with the party expected to mobilize supporters across the country in the coming weeks.
