An unusual event unfolded at the Islamabad District and Sessions Court when a man appears in place of an accused during a hearing.
The incident happened in the court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Jahangir Awan. According to details, Shahid Karim came to court pretending to be Bilal Khan, who was facing a case related to his pre-arrest bail plea.
During the proceedings, when the judge ordered the arrest of the accused, the man admitted that he was not Bilal Khan. Shahid Karim confessed that his friend had asked him to appear in court on his behalf. He also said Bilal Khan assured him that “nothing would happen.”
Following the confession, the court immediately ordered the arrest of Shahid Karim for impersonation. This unexpected moment highlighted a serious attempt to mislead the court.
The case under hearing involved Bilal Khan’s pre-arrest bail application. Since the required surety bonds had not been submitted, the court dismissed the plea. Orders were also issued for Bilal Khan’s immediate arrest.
This unusual development shocked many present in the courtroom, as it is rare that a man appears on behalf of another in such a sensitive legal matter. The judge made it clear that misleading the court would not be tolerated under any circumstances.
Authorities are now investigating the matter further, while efforts continue to arrest Bilal Khan. The incident has raised concerns about loopholes that allow such impersonation attempts in judicial proceedings.
This case stands as a reminder that court orders must be followed strictly, and anyone trying to deceive the system will face legal consequences.
