Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar has called for the formation of an alliance to counter India’s “rogue behavior” following the murder of a Sikh separatist leader in Canada. Canada has accused India of involvement in the murder, leading to tensions between the two countries. Kakar stated that the murder had raised serious questions about the role of the Indian state and that Pakistan had shared evidence of India’s role in such incidents with global and multilateral forums. He also highlighted the persecution of minorities, including Christians, Sikhs, and Muslims, in India.
Kakar emphasized that Pakistan was striving to provide relief to the masses and had taken measures against sugar and wheat mafias. He also discussed Pakistan’s multifaceted engagements with the Afghan interim government and expressed hope for beneficial outcomes.

Regarding Pak-US ties, Kakar stressed the historical ties between the two countries and the role of the Pakistani diaspora in the US. He emphasized Pakistan’s exclusive identity and called for viewing the country through its unique prism.
Kakar mentioned his meeting with Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and their discussions on mutual priorities. He also reiterated Pakistan’s stance on not favoring military solutions to conflicts and advocating for dialogue.
The caretaker prime minister condemned the persecution of Muslims in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), describing it as “genocide.” He highlighted the human rights violations in the region, including extrajudicial killings and sexual violence against women.
On the issue of Afghan refugees, Kakar mentioned administrative interventions for repatriation and emphasized that Pakistan wanted constructive engagement with Russia.
He refuted the notion of Pakistan’s isolation on the world stage and stated that there was growing interest in the world for Pakistan. Kakar also discussed his engagements on the sidelines of the UNGA session.
