ISLAMABAD β PM Shehbaz Sharif has appealed to the nation to extend greater support for flood victims on the occasion of the International Day of Charity.
In his message, the PM highlighted the importance of social welfare, charity, and tolerance in building a compassionate society. He said Pakistanβs history reflects a strong culture of selfless service inspired by Islamic teachings and local traditions.
The Prime Minister praised the role of volunteers and philanthropists, noting that Pakistan has always stood out in charitable giving. He pointed to the countryβs record of collective action during disasters, wars, and emergencies, saying the spirit of generosity has saved countless lives.
Shehbaz Sharif acknowledged welfare projects such as free healthcare, food banks, and ambulance services. He described them as proof of the nationβs ongoing commitment to helping those in need. He urged individuals, institutions, and organizations to strengthen this tradition for the betterment of society.
Referring to the recent floods caused by heavy rains, the PM said that affected communities urgently need food, shelter, and medical care. He added that the federal and provincial governments, with the support of the armed forces, are actively engaged in rescue and relief operations.
The Prime Minister also called on overseas Pakistanis to contribute generously to relief and rehabilitation work. He said unity, compassion, and sacrifice will help the nation overcome challenges and move toward a stronger future.
Emphasizing that charity is not only a religious duty but also a social necessity, the PM encouraged people from all walks of life to come forward. He stressed that mutual cooperation and kindness can bring dignity and progress to the nation.
