ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leadership has been given a firm message that there will be No More Tolerance for any vilification campaigns or harsh remarks against the Pakistan Army and its top command. According to party insiders, the warning was delivered in strong and clear terms, leaving little room for misunderstanding.
A senior party source said the leadership was told that the situation has reached the “enough is enough” stage. PTI leaders, the source added, fully understand the seriousness of the communication. Authorities believe criticism of the military leadership has continued for more than three years, but they now insist there will be No More Tolerance for attacks on the institution or its senior officials.
Tensions also rose after a recent meeting between Uzma Khanam and her jailed brother, the PTI founder. Officials who helped arrange the meeting were reportedly embarrassed by remarks made by Imran Khan’s sister afterward. The episode triggered concern within PTI, where several senior parliamentarians privately expressed disappointment. They believe family members should show restraint, especially when the party is seeking political space and pushing for dialogue.
Sources confirmed that some leaders were questioned about who manages PTI’s social media operations and how posts, including those issued from Imran Khan’s official X account, are drafted and circulated. They were reminded again that there is No More Tolerance for online campaigns targeting the army.

Within PTI’s parliamentary group, many lawmakers agree that dialogue is the only way to reduce political tensions. However, they also admit that Imran Khan’s strong statements and the party’s online messaging have become major hurdles. One MNA noted that, similar to the post–May 9 stance, there is now zero leniency for anti-army campaigns and urged family members not to repeat heated remarks publicly, as it harms the party’s efforts for relief.
