Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousuf has renewed his call for the creation of a separate Hazara province.
Speaking in an interview with a private news channel, Sardar Yousuf said that forming new provinces is a pressing need for Pakistan. He stressed that additional administrative units would improve governance and help resolve local problems more effectively.
The federal minister pointed out that the idea of new provinces, including Hazara, was also part of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) election manifesto. According to him, decentralization would not only ensure efficient service delivery but also strengthen the federation.
Hazara province demand
The demand for a separate Hazara province has been raised for several years. Sardar Yousuf emphasized that the people of Hazara face unique challenges that can only be addressed through a dedicated provincial setup. He added that this step would ensure fair resource distribution and better representation in policymaking.
Opposition resignations
Commenting on political developments, Sardar Yousuf criticized the resignations of opposition members from parliamentary standing committees. He said such decisions could weaken the democratic process and damage Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) politically.
Instead of boycotting responsibilities, the minister urged opposition lawmakers to perform their duties in parliament. He underlined that parliamentary committees play a vital role in ensuring accountability and legislative oversight.
Governance and public service
Sardar Yousuf further noted that creating new provinces is not just a political slogan but a necessity for improving governance. He said that administrative reforms are vital to solving issues of health, education, and infrastructure at the local level.
By advocating for Hazara province, Sardar Yousuf has once again highlighted the importance of administrative restructuring as a way to address long-standing public grievances.
