RAWALPINDI – A reported late-night meeting with PTI founder Imran Khan at Adiala Jail has sparked fresh political speculation. The development comes ahead of PTI’s planned September 27 mobilisation.

Journalist Raja Aatif Zulfiqar reported that a high-level official allegedly met Imran Khan inside the jail. The meeting reportedly lasted around three to four hours. Its timing and reported secrecy have raised questions about its purpose.

According to the journalist, some Adiala Jail personnel were removed from the area during the meeting. Imran Khan was allegedly brought out of his barracks. He was then taken to the superintendent’s room for a closed-door discussion.

The exact identity of the official has not been publicly confirmed. Details of the reported conversation also remain unclear. No independent confirmation of the meeting’s reported agenda has emerged.

Sources cited by Raja Aatif Zulfiqar reportedly linked the meeting to the September 27 protest. The discussion may have included a warning about possible consequences of another violent confrontation.

Such a warning would come amid memories of previous clashes between PTI supporters and authorities. The reported message may have focused on avoiding another major law-and-order situation.

However, claims about the meeting should be treated cautiously. There is currently no confirmed information about any agreement reached during the discussion.

Speculation Over Possible Political Deal

The reported meeting has also triggered speculation about a possible secret deal. However, there is no confirmed evidence of such an arrangement.

Raja Aatif Zulfiqar suggested that more details could emerge in the coming days. Until then, the reported claims remain unverified.

The development has also raised questions about Imran Khan’s possible movement before September 27. Reports suggest authorities could consider shifting him to Islamabad.

Shifa International Hospital and Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) have reportedly been discussed as possible medical options. Any such move would depend on medical or administrative considerations.

Imran Khan was reportedly shifted from Shifa International Hospital to PIMS in August. The move followed security concerns after PTI supporters gathered outside Shifa.

He was later examined by a specialist medical board. The board reportedly included a cardiologist and an ophthalmologist. After being declared fit, he was returned to Adiala Jail.

PTI had opposed the hospital change. The party also questioned the transparency of the medical assessment.

Government-PTI Contacts Continue

The reported jail meeting comes as political contacts between the government and PTI continue.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Khan have reportedly met several times in September. Some reports suggest they held three or four meetings this month.

At least one meeting was reportedly lengthy. Political matters and possible areas of discussion were reportedly considered.

These contacts have continued despite the lack of a confirmed political breakthrough. Imran Khan remains behind bars, while major changes to his legal or political position have not been announced.

The September 27 mobilisation has now become a major point of concern. Reports suggest PTI has been warned against another confrontation with authorities.

According to the claims, another violent clash could reduce the space for further negotiations. This has placed the planned protest at the centre of the current political standoff.
