In a setback for Sher Afzal Marwat, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has expelled him from the party due to repeated violations of its disciplinary rules. PTI’s additional secretary general, Firdous Shamim Naqvi, issued a notification citing Marwat’s breaches of party regulations as the reason for his expulsion.
This decision follows the establishment of a four-member inquiry committee to investigate Marwat’s disciplinary issues and controversial statements. Marwat had previously received a show-cause notice for his misconduct and controversial remarks, and the committee deemed his response to the notice inadequate.
