Who Really Runs Imran Khan’s X Account PTI Leaders Say 'They Don’t Know'

ISLAMABAD – Controversy continues over former Prime Minister and PTI founder Imran Khan’s social media account, as posts attributed to him spark widespread debate. Concerns have arisen about misinformation and potential external influence.

The ISPR chief revealed that some messages from Imran Khan’s X account are being circulated through Indian and Afghan accounts. Authorities worry these posts may influence public opinion. Recently, the National Counter Terrorism Authority (NCCIA) questioned Imran Khan in jail about who actually manages the account. Khan, however, did not provide any answers regarding its operation.

PTI leaders have also expressed uncertainty about the account’s management. PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Khan stated he does not know who runs Imran Khan’s X account or where the posts originate. He added that if he managed it, the content would focus on reconciliation instead of controversy.

Barrister Ali Zafar echoed similar concerns, saying even PTI leaders are unaware of the account’s operators. “I believe everyone knows who handles Imran Khan’s account, but the party is not informed about its use,” he said.

Senator Mishal Yusufzai also raised questions, noting the account has become a headache for many. She suggested that perhaps only Imran Khan himself can clarify the situation. Meanwhile, PTI leader Shahid Khattak declined to comment in detail, fearing it might escalate tensions.

The confusion has intensified scrutiny over the posts and their origins, leaving the public and PTI members puzzled. Analysts say the controversy highlights the challenges political leaders face in controlling their social media narratives.
