President Zardari Waives Salary Amid Economic Challenges

President Asif Ali Zardari has made the decision to forgo his salary during his second tenure as the head of the state in light of the prevailing economic challenges, according to a press release from the President’s Secretariat. The decision aims to encourage prudent financial management in the country and not burden the national exchequer.

It’s worth noting that Asif Zardari was elected as Pakistan’s President for the second time after defeating Mahmood Khan Achakzai of the Sunni Ittehad Council.

In addition, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Information Secretary Faisal Karim Kundi confirmed that Aseefa Bhutto, President Zardari’s daughter, will assume the role of the country’s First Lady. This was further emphasized by Aseefa Bhutto herself in a post on X, where she expressed her journey from accompanying her father to court hearings to now being by his side as the First Lady of Pakistan.

Furthermore, newly appointed Federal Minister of Interior and Narcotics Control, Mohsin Naqvi, also announced his decision to forego his salary, stating his commitment to supporting and serving the nation during these challenging times.
