Prices of Electronic Items Rise By Up To 30% Following The Approval Of Budget 2024-25

The Pakistani government implemented stringent taxation in the latest budget, resulting in a substantial increase in prices for electronic items such as air conditioners, refrigerators, LED TVs, and similar items.

These measures were introduced to comply with demands from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) aimed at stabilizing Pakistan’s struggling economy.

The 2024-25 budget incorporates higher taxes on various electronic items, intended to enhance government income and tackle the economic issues facing the country.

Electronic item prices post Budget 2024

The price of LED TVs increased by Rs5000-6000, while 1-ton ACs saw a significant rise, now priced at Rs85,000.

Due to the new taxes, smartphones have become significantly more expensive, posing challenges for consumers looking to buy new models or upgrade their current devices.

Similarly, prices of laptops and desktop computers have risen, affecting students, professionals, and businesses. Cameras, audio equipment, and other consumer electronics have also experienced price increases.

The government justified these actions as crucial for long-term economic stability, but the sudden surge in electronic item prices is expected to impact businesses in the months ahead.
