Primary Students No Longer Have to Carry Books to School Under New Policy

To reduce the burden on young students, government primary schools in the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) are implementing a new policy eliminating the need for students to carry books between home and school.

Instead, classrooms will be equipped with pigeonholes and book racks to store books, creating a more convenient and child-friendly learning environment.

Education Secretary Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani, in an interview with a national daily, disclosed that he has been working on this policy for over a month and that all necessary preparations will be completed before schools reopen.

Wani added that the decision is welcomed by both parents and students and is expected to positively impact young minds. The new policy will take effect on August 1, with all government primary schools in the capital making the necessary arrangements.
