Wasim Jr. Identifies Player Transforming Quetta Gladiators

Quetta Gladiators fast bowler Muhammad Wasim Jr. has showered praise on the exceptional bowling prowess of Muhammad Amir, attributing the early success of the ‘Men in Purple’ in PSL 9 to the left-arm pacer.

Wasim Jr. commended Amir’s immaculate bowling performances with the new ball and during the death overs, expressing his enjoyment in partnering with him, especially in the crucial latter stages of the innings.

During a post-match press conference, Wasim expressed, “I am enjoying bowling with Mohammad Amir who is a world-class bowler. The way he bowls at the start and then in the death overs, I am really relishing bowling alongside him.”

Wasim Jr. showcased his own bowling prowess by claiming figures of 3-20 against Islamabad United in Lahore, contributing to Gladiators’ impressive display in restricting the opposition to 138-9.

With the recent appointments of Shane Watson as Head Coach and Shaun Tait as Bowling Coach, Quetta Gladiators have evolved into a formidable bowling unit. The lethal combinations of spin duo Abrar Ahmed and Akeal Hossein, along with death bowling specialists Wasim Jr. and Muhammad Amir, have bolstered the team’s performance.

Wasim Jr. expressed gratitude towards the team management for their guidance, highlighting the positive influence of the Aussie coaches who provided strategic plans for the bowlers. Their advice resulted in a notable improvement in his bowling performance against Islamabad United.

Addressing the significance of team dynamics in franchise cricket, Wasim emphasized the importance of a well-balanced combination. He stated, “The way our combination has been formed, it’s very good. Change of captaincy does not matter much; what matters is the team combination and we have a fine combination.”

As Quetta Gladiators gear up for their match against Multan Sultans in Multan, Wasim Jr. expressed confidence in maintaining their flawless PSL 9 record. The team aims to continue their winning streak against the Sultans on their home turf.
