On Saturday, Raja Riaz, the former opposition leader in the National Assembly, submitted his nomination papers for the NA-104 (Faisalabad-X) National Assembly constituency.
Addressing the media afterward, he asserted that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) is a party that prioritizes the interests of the people and has not engaged in any seat adjustments with other political entities. He emphasized that the candidate chosen by the party will actively participate in the upcoming election.
Raja Riaz pointed out that no arrests have been made concerning the submission of nomination papers, as 22 candidates from NA-104 have already completed this process.
Alleging that leaders and supporters of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) are spreading propaganda due to their apprehension about the PML-N’s popularity, he confidently stated that the PML-N is poised to dominate the elections on February 8, with the expectation of Nawaz Sharif becoming the next Prime Minister of Pakistan.
Additionally, Raja Riaz highlighted that the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) had declared the PTI’s intra-party election as illegitimate, a fact acknowledged even by members within the PTI itself.—APP
