Due of Muharram processions, the Rawalpindi City Traffic Police (CTP) has produced a traffic strategy for the next few days.
On July 26 (7th Muharram), July 29 (10th Muharram), and July 30 (11th Muharram), processions will be held at various locations throughout the city.

The procession will begin after Maghrib on July 26th (7th Muharram) and will last until Fajr the next day. Nishtar Street, Kuri Road, Chah Sultan, Sadiqabad Road, Committee Chowk, Jamia Majid Road, and a few more major thoroughfares will be shut down.
The procession will commence at 7 a.m. on July 29 (10th of Muharram) from Imam Bargah Yadgar Hussain and Imam Bargah Col. Maqbool Hussain and will last till Isha time.
As a result, major thoroughfares such as 5th Road, Commercial Market, Asghar Mall Road, Banni Chowk, Jamia Masjid Road, Fawara Chowk, and Committee Chowk would be closed to traffic. Tench Road, Dhamial Road, and Mughalabad Road will also be closed.
The procession will take held on July 30 (11th of Muharram) at Peshawar Road from 02:00 PM to Isha time. As a result, traffic will be restricted on Peshawar Road, ABL Street, Misrial Road, and Hali Road.
While traffic in the twin cities is normally light during the Muharram holidays, visitors are nevertheless encouraged to plan their journeys carefully.
