Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 Brings Nearly No Changes for the Same Cost

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 Brings Nearly No Changes for the Same Cost

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 has also been released globally, alongside its smaller sister, the Z Flip 5. In comparison to the Z Flip 5, the Z Fold 5 is a more incremental improvement, delivering enhancements rather than a complete overhaul.
Display and Design
The Galaxy Z Fold 5 now employs the same Flex Hinge as the Z Flip 5, allowing it to close fully flat after 5 years, making it thinner and dust-free. For further security, it has an Armor Aluminum frame and Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the front and interior screen.
Concerning the displays, they both preserve their original specifications. The display on the outside is a 6.2-inch Dynamic AMOLED with a resolution of 2316 x 904 px and an adjustable refresh rate of 48 to 120Hz.
Inside is a 7.6-inch Foldable AMOLED display with a resolution of 2176 x 1812px and an adjustable refresh rate of 1 to 120Hz. The display aspect ratios have likewise stayed constant.
According to Samsung’s claims, the main screen is at least 30% brighter than before. The new S Pen is leaner and smaller than previously, and it can still be attached to the phone via a special S Pen case.

Software and Internals
The new Galaxy Z Fold 5 features the most advanced mobile chip available today, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform for Galaxy, which is also included in the Galaxy S23 series. However, due to its revised cooling mechanism and higher surface area, the larger Fold 5 is projected to perform better in terms of heat dissipation.
The Z Fold 5 supports up to 1 TB of storage but only has a single 12 GB RAM option. For software, you get Android 13L with One UI 5.1.1, just like the Galaxy Z Flip 5.
Cameras
The entire camera system looks to be unchanged from 2022. It has two selfie cameras: a 10MP f/2.2 1.22m device embedded into the cover screen and an internal 4MP f/1.8 2.0m under-display camera.
A 50MP f/1.8 1.0m wide-angle shooter, a 12MP f/2.2 1.12m ultrawide camera, and a 10MP f/2.4 1.0m camera with 3x zoom are located on the rear.
Pricing and Battery
The battery has a capacity of 4,400 mAh and supports 25W cable charging as well as 15W wireless charging. These capabilities allow the battery to charge up to 50% in just 30 minutes, which is quite disappointing by today’s standards.
However, thanks to the more power-efficient Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 CPU, battery life should be marginally enhanced.
The phone is available in three colors: Icy Blue, Phantom Black, and Cream. Pricing is determined by memory and storage configurations: a 12 GB RAM/256 GB storage variant costs $1,800, a 12 GB/512 GB model costs $1,920, and the top-tier 12 GB/1 TB device costs $2,160.
