Star Shaheen Shah Afridi, a Pakistani bowler, has voiced optimism for the next ODI season following an outstanding showing in the white-ball series against New Zealand.

The left-arm bowler told the media after the fourth game against New Zealand that the Men in Green have the potential to advance to the finals of both the next Asia Cup and the 2023 ODI World Cup.

Shaheen Afridi said in response to a question regarding preparation that the series is really important to them because they will compete in two major events over the course of the next six months.

The 22-year-old pacer continued by saying that he always gave it his all to achieve well for Pakistan and that he would work to do the same in the forthcoming ODI season in all three categories.

Shaheen responded that his role, whether it be the first or last over, is to attack the opposition and apply pressure, regardless of whether he can take a wicket in the first over.

The left-arm pacer continued by stating that although injuries are a part of life, he learned from the experience and hoped to carry on his recent string of strong results.
