Sarfaraz Ahmed, the former captain of the Pakistan cricket team, had led Quetta Gladiators from the first to the eighth season. The decision to appoint a new captain underscores the team’s commitment to refreshing its leadership. Among the potential candidates for captaincy, Saud Shakeel seems to be a prominent contender. Shakeel has represented Pakistan in both Tests and ODIs, displaying a commendable batting average. With a history of loyalty to Quetta Gladiators, being the only franchise he has played for in the PSL, Shakeel’s candidacy aligns with the team’s preference for loyalty in its players. The appointment of a new captain adds an element of anticipation and change to Quetta Gladiators’ strategy as they gear up for PSL 9.
