Ahsan Waleed Shines at Long Range Shooting Championship

Fourteen-year-old Ahsan Waleed Gill delivered a stellar performance on the opening day of the 2nd F-Class Long Range Shooting Championship in Jhelum, clinching gold in the 600M event with a perfect score of 75/75. The event, held at the Army Marksmanship Unit, saw 45 shooters compete in 600M and 800M categories.

Gill emphasized the importance of technique and mental focus in shooting. “Mastering technique and synchronizing it with wind conditions is key,” he shared, adding that focusing on the process rather than the outcome is crucial for success.

In the 800M competition, Junaid Waqas Iqbal took gold, while Gill secured silver with 11 bullseye hits, narrowly missing the top spot. Despite the challenge, Gill’s consistency earned him the overall FTR Trophy, marking a triumphant day for the young shooter.

Starting his journey at the age of eight, Gill credited his family and coaches for their unwavering support. “This achievement inspires me to work harder and make Pakistan proud,” he said.
