Pakistan’s star players, Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, and Shaheen Afridi, have seen significant drops in the latest ICC T20I rankings after their team’s disappointing 3-0 series loss to Australia.
In the T20I batter rankings, Babar Azam slipped from 4th to 5th place with 742 rating points, while his fellow opener, Mohammad Rizwan, dropped from 5th to 6th with 719 points. This marks a downturn for Pakistan’s top batters, as there are currently no other Pakistani players in the top 50 of the T20I rankings.

Conversely, India’s Tilak Varma made a remarkable rise, jumping 69 spots to 3rd overall, just behind Australia’s top-ranked batter Travis Head, with Suryakumar Yadav now in 4th place. Other notable performers include India’s Sanju Samson, who climbed 17 spots to 22nd, and South Africa’s Tristan Stubbs, who moved up to 23rd. Sri Lanka’s Kusal Mendis and West Indies’ Shai Hope also improved their rankings.
In the T20I bowling rankings, Pakistan’s Shaheen Afridi faced a significant fall, dropping from 14th to 24th place. However, Haris Rauf saw positive movement, rising four spots to 20th with 601 rating points, reflecting his standout performance in the recent series. Australia’s Adam Zampa and Nathan Ellis made notable gains, while India’s Arshdeep Singh rose to a career-high 9th place.
In the Test rankings, there were mixed results for Pakistan. Saud Shakeel dropped two places to 9th in the batting rankings, while Babar Azam climbed to 17th. Salman Ali Agha and Mohammad Rizwan also moved up to 19th and 20th places, respectively.
These ranking shifts reflect both Pakistan’s struggles in recent matches and strong performances from other players globally.
