Basit Ali Suggests Bangladesh As Alternative Venue For PSL 10

Former Pakistan Test cricketer Basit Ali has floated the idea of shifting the remaining matches of Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 10 to Bangladesh, citing the country’s deep-rooted passion for cricket and strong ties with Pakistan. In a post on X, the former batter described Bangladesh as a “brotherly country” with packed stadiums that could inject fresh enthusiasm into the league.

Basit argued that moving the tournament to Bangladesh, instead of traditional fallback venues like Dubai, would not only ensure vibrant fan engagement but also boost the league’s visibility. He expressed confidence that such a venue would attract overwhelming support, reigniting excitement for the suspended season.

The suggestion surfaces at a time of great uncertainty for PSL 10, which was put on hold indefinitely amid growing regional tensions following reports of Indian aggression. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has yet to officially comment on the league’s resumption, although sources suggest franchises have been told to keep foreign players in Dubai and local players ready for a possible restart.

If accepted, this would be the first time PSL fixtures move to South Asia outside Pakistan. The PCB is expected to convene a final round of discussions in Islamabad before determining the next course of action for the tournament.
