Pakistan Secured Victory Against India In The World Blind Games

Pakistan achieved a commendable victory against India by an 18-run margin during the International Blind Sports Federation (IBSA) World Blind Games held in Birmingham on Sunday. The Indian VI team, after winning the toss at the King Edward’s School ground, opted to have Pakistan’s visually-impaired team bat first. Sporting the Green Shirts, Pakistan posted a total of 187 runs while losing eight wickets in their allotted 20 overs.

Key performances included Muhammad Salman’s 50 runs off 31 deliveries, Captain Nisar Ali’s 46 runs off 33 balls, and Badar Munir’s 37 runs off 24 balls. India’s Ajay Kumar Reddy took four wickets, while Nakula Badanayak claimed three Pakistani batsmen.

In response, India faced the challenge of achieving 169 runs for the loss of seven wickets within their 20 overs. Despite requiring 38 runs in the last three overs, Matiullah of Pakistan delivered a remarkable 18th over, conceding a mere four runs. India’s fortunes waned as they lost three wickets, including one by run-out, transitioning from 150 runs for three wickets to 154 runs for six wickets.

Sunil Ramesh of India VI scored 62 runs, complemented by Durga Rao Tompaki’s 40 runs. Matiullah from Pakistan VI secured two wickets, while five Indian batsmen were run out during their innings. Pakistan’s upcoming match will see them face Bangladesh on Tuesday.
