Newcomers Haseebullah, Mehran Mumtaz, and Kamran Ghulam are set to make their Test debuts, while Mohammad Ali and off-spinner Sajid Khan join the squad. Noman Ali and Zahid Mehmood, who were initially released after the first Test, have been brought back to add experience.

The selectors, led by Aqib Javed, aimed to balance player form and rest with Pakistan’s upcoming busy schedule. Javed emphasized that the break for Babar, Naseem, Sarfaraz, and Shaheen is crucial for their fitness and readiness for future challenges.

The team hopes the new mix of players will help them bounce back in the series and prepare for a demanding 2024-25 season.
