On Monday, Shaheen Afridi, a fast bowler for the Pakistan cricket team, affirmed his dedication to playing for Pakistan with integrity, stating that he does not focus on captaincy matters. Addressing the media in Karachi, Afridi clarified that captaincy is outside his control, saying, “The captaincy is not in my hands, so I don’t think about it.”
He stressed his commitment to concentrating on his performance and maintaining a positive attitude, adding, “My training is not such that I focus on negative things.”

Afridi also expressed uncertainty about his potential inclusion in the squad for the upcoming Test series against Bangladesh. He admitted, “I don’t know whether I will be included in the squad to play the Test series against Bangladesh or not.”
It’s important to note that after Pakistan’s defeat in the ODI World Cup last year, Babar Azam resigned from captaincy across all formats. Shaheen Shah Afridi was subsequently appointed as the T20 captain.
However, the Pakistan Cricket Board later reinstated Babar Azam as captain for both the ODI and T20 formats.
