Pakistan’s emerging T20 team is set to face Sri Lanka in the first semi-final of the Emerging T20 Asia Cup today. The match will take place at the Emirates Stadium in Oman, kicking off at 3 pm local time.

Pakistan’s journey to this stage has been marked by notable victories over the United Arab Emirates and Oman, although they encountered a close defeat against arch-rivals India, losing by just seven runs in an intense match. In the tournament’s second semi-final, India will go up against Afghanistan A at 6:30 pm local time.

As Pakistan readies for this critical clash with Sri Lanka, their performance in the tournament has shown promise. The team aims to secure a place in the final with a strong performance today.

Earlier this week, Pakistan dominated the UAE with a resounding 114-run victory in the ACC Men’s T20 Emerging Teams Asia Cup on Wednesday, securing their semi-final berth. This match, held at the Oman Cricket Academy Ground in Muscat, featured stellar performances from captain Mohammad Haris and fast bowler Shahnawaz Dahani.

Batting first, the Shaheens posted a competitive 179-4 in 20 overs, led by Haris with an impressive unbeaten 71 off 49 balls. The UAE, in response, struggled against Pakistan’s relentless bowling, with Dahani taking his first T20 five-wicket haul. He finished with career-best figures of 5-12, including two maidens, as UAE were bowled out for a mere 65 in 15.5 overs.
