Crazy Scenes In Italy As PSG Comeback Against Tottenham Hotspurs In The UEFA Super Cup Final.

PSG lifting the super cup

Udine, Italy — August 13, 2025

What a night of football in Udine.

Paris Saint-Germain have finally added the UEFA Super Cup to their collection, and they did it the hard way. Down 2-0 with just over 10 minutes left, PSG pulled off a dramatic comeback against Tottenham Hotspur, taking the game to penalties and edging it out 4-3 in the shootout. For PSG, this is their first-ever Super Cup title, a huge moment for the club. For Spurs, it was heartbreak after coming so close to their first European trophy in decades.

Tottenham Looked in Control… Until They Weren’t

Tottenham couldn’t have asked for a better start. Micky van de Ven tapped in the opener right before the break, and not long after halftime, Cristian Romero made it 2-0 with a bullet header. At that point, it felt like Spurs had one hand on the trophy. But as we’ve seen so many times in football, momentum is everything and once PSG found it, there was no looking back.

PSG’s Late Show Delivers

It started with Lee Kang-in. The South Korean midfielder smashed one in from the edge of the box in the 78th minute to give PSG a lifeline. Then in the dying seconds of stoppage time, Gonçalo Ramos pounced on a loose ball and slotted home the equalizer. From 2-0 down to 2-2, all within the space of 15 minutes. It was game on.

Chevalier Steps Up in the Shootout

With no extra time in the Super Cup, the match went straight to penalties. And that’s where PSG’s surprise starter, 22-year-old Lucas Chevalier wrote his name in club history. Luis Enrique took a risk by leaving Gianluigi Donnarumma on the bench, but Chevalier repaid the faith in full. He saved two penalties and showed nerves of steel throughout. When Nuno Mendes smashed home the winning spot-kick, PSG had done it.

Their first Super Cup. A comeback for the ages. And a new goalkeeping hero.
