Joe Root has etched his name in history by becoming England’s leading run-scorer in Test cricket during the first Test match against Pakistan. In a remarkable display of skill and determination, Root surpassed Alastair Cook’s long-standing record by achieving a total of 12,546 runs after scoring an impressive unbeaten century.

This milestone, reached on Wednesday, solidifies Root’s status as England’s “GOAT” (Greatest of All Time) in red-ball cricket. With this achievement, he also became the fifth-highest run-scorer in the history of Test cricket, joining legends such as Sachin Tendulkar, Ricky Ponting, Jacques Kallis, and Rahul Dravid.
