Pakistani Swimmers Ahmed Durrani and Jehanara Nabi faced a challenging outing at the 2024 Paris Olympics, as they did not advance to the subsequent rounds of their respective events.
In the men’s 200-meter freestyle, Durrani ended up in last place in his heat with a time of 1:58.67, which was below his personal best of 1:55 and ranked him 25th out of 25 competitors. Similarly, Nabi finished 26th out of 30 in the women’s 200-meter freestyle, missing out on a spot in the top 16.

In the shooting events, Gulfam Joseph and Kishmala Talat also encountered difficulties. Joseph competed in the 10-meter air pistol event but could not advance to the finals, scoring 571 points and placing 22nd out of 33 shooters.
Talat, his teammate, did not make it to the final round either, scoring 567 points. Both shooters will participate in the mixed-team event scheduled for July 29, with Kishmala also aiming to perform well in the women’s 25m pistol event.
Overall, Pakistan has sent a delegation of seven athletes and 11 officials to the Paris Olympics, hoping for better results as the Games continue.
